Can we talk about Moms a little bit this week? Moms are awesome, right? And sometimes, because they’re just there, doing their thing, all the time, we can take them for granted. So, once a year, we set aside a day to celebrate the moms in our life - whether our own Moms, or other Moms who hold a special place in our life.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I have a hard time thinking of the perfect thing to buy my mother - and she’s no help; if I ask her what she’d like, she usually replies “oh, I don’t need anything”.
So, to that end, I thought it’d be nice to compile a bit of a robin b. gift guide for all the moms in your life. (Are you a mom yourself? There’s no shame in leaving your browser tab conveniently open to let your family know what kind of things would make your special day extra special!)
For the on-the-go Mom:
Can you ever have too many bags for carrying all the essentials? (I mean, I think no…) The “mom bag” is almost a cliche, but we all know that moms always have the best things in their bags! Depending on the age of their kids, they’re likely to have wipes (which are amazing for spot treating spills on your clothes, by the way), snacks, or just about anything else you might find yourself needing.
For the minimalist Mom:
Our Grace Necklace is a simple, but beautiful piece that will go with nearly any outfit a mom wears - from leggings and slouchy sweater, to a classy little black dress! Jillian, from our Marketing team says that she loves pieces that she can wear every day, regardless of her outfit, because with three young boys to get out the door, the less thinking she needs to do to get herself ready, the better (but she still wants to look put together!)
For the picky Mom:
You guys, I’ve learned the hard way that sometimes you just have to give your mom a gift card. One Christmas, my mom told me she’d like a cashmere turtleneck. So, I bought her a lovely one… which she promptly returned because she “didn’t like the neck”. Can’t make this stuff up! Just because you give a gift card doesn’t mean your gift has to be impersonal. Add a note with the gift card offering a fun shopping day, with a lunch date! The gift of time can be even more valuable than a monetary gift.
For the always-cold Mama:
We have so many awesome scarves in the shop right now! They’re great because they’re lightweight but still add a little bit of a layer for warmth - especially lovely for those of us who work in super air conditioned offices! Jillian from our Marketing team also says that scarves are her go-to gift for her mother-in-law, who is difficult to buy for.
What’s your favorite gift to buy your Mom? Do you have any good “Mom” stories to share with us? Let us know in the comments! And be sure to tag us @robinb.style and #btimelessbclassicbyou with pics of you (or your Mama!) sporting our robin b. styles!
