What's In My Bag? The Essentials Of A Fashion Boutique Owner

What's in the bag of a boutique owner

Maybe it’s my a bit of nosiness but I absolutely love seeing “What’s In My Bag?” posts from my favorite bloggers! Admit it, you do, too! I wanted to jump in on the fun and share with you all what my must-have essentials are for my own handbag! Without further ado, here’s a sneak peek into what fuels me:

The Handbag

Small, stylish purses have their time and place but for my day to day, I have to opt for a gorgeous, cruelty-free leather handbag. I need something big enough to fit all of my essentials but one that’s still fashion-forward. I like my accessories to have that “wow” factor, even if it’s a subtle one. This patchwork handbag has a cool mix of textures that sparks many compliments! Next on my handbag wish-list is this eye-catching Brave Leather tote in Sand Buffalo.

Pick-Me-Up Beauty Products

I am often out of the house from morning through to the late evening. As my fellow boss ladies know, long work days can take a toll on your makeup. Whether I’m running errands, working in the shop, or attending a meeting, I like to look my best. That’s why beauty products are a handbag must-have for me. It’s amazing what a difference a quick coat of mascara and a swipe of lip color can make! My go-to mascara right now is Tarte’s “Ready, Set, Lashes” as I’m all about products that pull double-duty and this one both volumizes and lengthens. Fig+Yarrow’s Rose+Vanilla Lip Blush is always kicking around in the bottom of my bag for when my lips are feeling dehydrated or I need a quick pop of color. And I don’t know where I would be without this Complexion Water! In the heat of Rhode Island summer, it’s been my saving grace – a quick spritz and I feel and look refreshed and much more awake!

Favorite Sunglasses

A staple for every woman on the go, I can’t leave home without my favorite pair of sunglasses. I always choose a neutral pair in a classic style so I can be sure that I’ll get a lot of wear out of them. You can’t go wrong with a brown or tortoiseshell frame!

Snacks!

Owning a boutique means long hours and I’m often unable to pop out, even for lunch. To avoid a sugar crash or the temptation of convenience-store food, I always throw a few healthy snacks in my bag to keep me on track. Kind bars are a great choice for those of us who are looking for something more natural and without all the additives of your sugary, grocery store granola bars.

A Stylish Stack

You never know when you’ll get a last-minute call to a meeting or have to jet out after closing the shop for an impromptu event. To instantly elevate my outfit, I always keep a stack of stylish bangles and bracelets close by. With mixing metals on trend right now, I’m loving this variety of sleek, Kendra Phillip bangles.

Hand Sanitizer

Lastly, you can’t go wrong throwing a travel-sized bottle of hand sanitizer into your handbag. You never know where the day will take you!

I hope you enjoyed a peek into a little part of my world. I'd love to hear what's in your bag! Shop online or stop by our Rhode Island boutique for more must-have items, and don't forget to follow along on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest
