You can start off with a nice spa/salon session of manis and pedis so that you can begin your shopping excursion with a zen-like calm. There is a Mini Luxe in the plaza that is the perfect spot for your pampering session. They have extended hours so you can get your treatments before the retail stores open.
Fuel Your Day
After the manis and pedis walk over to Starbucks for your favorite caffeinated beverage. This Starbucks has great outdoor seating, perfect for mapping out your day. Looking for lunch? Try B. GOOD. I would suggest a favorite dish, but the menu changes based on locally sourced ingredients. If you are looking for a bit more of a local flair (RI is known for it’s Italian cuisine), I would suggest Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza. You will love the meatballs! Not to mention the pizza that starts with the freshest ingredients and cooked to perfection.
Garden City Center has some great chain stores but it is the independent-owned and operated stores that I find have the true treasures. Are you a new Mom? Visit Mod Mama. With a philosophy of “less is more” you will find a carefully curated assortment of all things baby. Some of my other favorites; Barrington Books Retold for the vinyl record section (yes, that is all coming back) and unique gifts you won’t find on Amazon, Sweenor's Chocolates for that perfect truffle or chocolate covered caramel, and Providence Diamondfor that fine jewelry that everyone needs in their collection. Of course, if you are looking for exclusive designs and fashion that will stand the test of time, visit robin b., our stylists are ready to help you find that perfect outfit for that upcoming job interview, your new promotion, or that night out with the girls.
The Perfect Ending
After you have “shopped till you dropped”, you will want to finish out the day with a cocktail and dinner. Bistro 22, locally owned, has an intimate setting with a bar and just a few tables. The food is fresh and changes with the seasons. One of my favorites. Looking for a bit bigger venue (and menu) Avvio (also locally owned) is a great spot for you and the girls to sit at the bar or high-top tables, explore the drink menu (lots of classic Italian mixers) and fill up on your favorite Italian pasta dish.
If you are local and have a favorite I have missed, please share with me. I'd love to hear what you love about shopping at Garden City Center.
